|
Construction has begun at the BlueOval SK Battery Park, where Ford and SK On's joint venture, BlueOval SK, has committed $5.8 billion to make sophisticated batteries for the next Ford and Lincoln electric vehicles, which are expected to go into production in 2025 and add 5,000 new jobs to Kentucky. The two enormous battery manufacturing plants, which can produce more than 80 gigawatt hours yearly, are being built as planned. Ford is getting closer to its goal of producing 2 million electric vehicles annually worldwide by the end of 2026 because of significant development work at BlueOval SK Battery Park.
